Account deletion request
Body
Please delete my account and any associated personal data. The email
address on this account is the address I am writing from.
What deleting your account removes
When we action a verified request, we delete your account record
— your email address, your username, and the salted hash of your password
— from our authentication database. Removing that record permanently ends
your access to Benefit Signals and signs you out on every device. We do this
within 30 days of receiving a verified request.
What is not removed automatically
We want to be straight with you: deleting your account record does not, on its own,
erase every trace of your use of Benefit Signals. The following may remain, and none
of it is used to re-identify you once your account is gone:
-
Sign-in and security metadata. To keep you signed in, enforce a
per-account device limit, and detect suspicious activity, we record a session
identifier per device along with sign-in timestamps, the IP address, and the
browser user-agent seen at sign-in. These records live in our authentication
system.
-
First-party usage analytics. We keep aggregate, first-party
analytics about how the Services are used. These events are keyed to a random
visitor identifier — and, for actions taken while signed in, to your former
account id — not to your email address.
-
Billing records. If you ever subscribed, we and our payment
processor (Stripe) retain a customer and subscription identifier, your plan and
billing status, and a record of delivered items, as required for tax, accounting,
and legal purposes. We do not store full card numbers.
If you would like us to also remove the records above, to the extent we are able
and legally permitted, say so in your email and we will act on your request as
required by applicable law. Our Privacy Policy describes these
categories of data and why we keep them.
Operational logs
A small amount of operational data is retained briefly for security and
fraud-prevention, then rotated out automatically:
-
Web server access logs — standard request logs
(IP, timestamp, URL, status code) that may incidentally include your IP
address. Retained for up to 30 days by our hosting
provider, then rotated out automatically.
-
Email delivery logs at our email provider (Resend) may
retain the address for delivery-audit purposes for up to
30 days. We do not control this retention window
directly, but it is bounded.
Confirmation
You will receive a reply confirming the deletion within five business days.
If you do not receive a reply, please follow up — we read every
email at support@benefit-signals.com.
