Benefeature: What It Is, What It Costs, and Who It Fits
Published · Updated · By Benefit Signals · Markdown version
Benefeature is a prospecting and analytics platform for insurance and benefits professionals that puts Form 5500 filings, per-product premium, employer contacts and broker attribution on one platform. It is one of the few vendors in the category that publishes full pricing: Pro at $1,925 per seat billed annually, Pro Plus at $10,000 for up to three seats with $2,500 per additional seat, and a custom Enterprise tier.

Benefeature is the vendor in this category most likely to be underrated by brokers, because its strengths are analytical rather than promotional. It also does something almost nobody else here does: it publishes its prices. That alone earns a serious look.
What is Benefeature?
Benefeature describes itself as "the modern prospecting and analytics platform for insurance and benefits professionals," helping "carriers, brokers, and vendors close more deals with actionable insights and data-driven workflows." It puts "Form 5500 filings, per-product premium, employer contacts, and broker attribution on one platform." Published modules include Per Product Premium, Benefit Ratings, Employer Contacts, Broker Filing Hub and Offices, Retirement and Group Benefits data, Small Group Employers, Territory Management, and an assistant called Atlas AI.

Its published history explains the analytical bent. The company's timeline says a predecessor business, AskGMS, was founded in 2001 "to help carriers measure market performance and understand plan design benchmarking," became "the industry standard for plan design benchmarking, rate analysis, and market share statistics," and that Benefeature itself launched in 2020 when carrier partners asked whether Form 5500 data could be turned into an intelligence platform. Benefeature pricing
Benefeature publishes full tier pricing, which is rare in this category and worth crediting.
| Tier | Published price | Included (published highlights) |
|---|---|---|
| Pro | "$1,925 Per seat, billed annually" | Broker/agent contacts, integrated retirement data, up to 200 row exports, strategic insights and market presence, US-based support |
| Pro Plus | "$10,000 Up to 3 seats, billed annually" ("$2,500 per additional seat") | Everything in Pro plus employer (buyer) contacts, CRM integrations and Atlas AI, 12,000 CRM syncs/year, up to 2,000 row exports, expanded licensing research |
| Enterprise | "Custom Unlimited seats, billed annually" | Everything in Pro Plus plus unlimited CRM syncs, API integrations and data extracts, custom reporting, territory mapping, unlimited exports, dedicated onboarding |

Read those numbers for what they signal about the intended buyer. A seat price near $1,925 a year, billed annually, with row-export caps in the hundreds, is priced for a carrier or broker analytics function rather than for a solo producer buying a subscription out of their own commission. That is a positioning choice, not a flaw.
Benefeature reviews and comparisons
Benefeature publishes its own comparison pages against miEdge, Judy Diamond, BenefitFlow and free ERISA data, linked from its site navigation. Vendor-authored comparisons are worth reading for the feature lists and worth discounting for the conclusions -- ours included. Source: benefeature.com/about-us (as published 2026-09-13).

Where Benefeature is the better buy. Breaking a multi-coverage contract into per-product premium is genuinely hard analytical work, and two decades of plan-design benchmarking behind it is not something a newer product replicates. If your questions are about market share, rate benchmarking, or how a carrier's book is distributed across brokers, that is their home ground and not ours. Publishing dollar prices in a quote-only category deserves credit on its own.
Where Benefit Signals is the better buy. We answer two questions rather than many. Change signals tell you who: the incumbent broker's position has changed, the business itself is in motion, or the economics sit out of line for a group that size. The Renewal Clock tells you when: the filed policy year end, to the day, across the 85,788 groups that carry one out of 85,931 employer groups read from 3.2 million Schedule A insurance contracts. 46,595 groups carry a decision-maker on file. A separate pool covers 831,896 small employers that file a retirement plan and have no filed group-health plan.
And the price difference is a difference in buyer, not in ambition. $60 a month is a decision a single producer makes on a Tuesday. $1,925 a seat is a decision a team makes at budget time, for a tool that does analytical work we do not attempt.

How our ranking was graded
Our model was trained on filings from 2016 through 2022 and graded against a 2023 filing cohort held out from model fitting, counting only groups with a top-compensated broker seat on file and a next-year filing to check the outcome against. Likelihoods, not certainties — how the model was tested is published on the home page. "Winnable" is a residual left after excluding co-broker reorders and bulk transfers consistent with book sales or rebrands, because employer intent is not in a filing. Ask every vendor in this category for the same disclosure.
Price: $60 a month or $600 a year. The monthly plan includes a seven-day free trial -- card at checkout, first charge day 8, cancel before then and pay nothing. Annual has no trial and bills in full on day one. Both renew automatically until cancelled. We are not affiliated with Benefeature. Questions: contact us.
Frequently asked questions
What is Benefeature?
A prospecting and analytics platform for insurance and benefits professionals that combines Form 5500 filings, per-product premium, employer contacts and broker attribution in one place. Its published modules include Per Product Premium, Benefit Ratings, Employer Contacts, a Broker Filing Hub, Territory Management and an assistant called Atlas AI.
How much does Benefeature cost?
Benefeature publishes full pricing as of 2026-09-13: Pro at "$1,925 Per seat, billed annually"; Pro Plus at "$10,000 Up to 3 seats, billed annually" with "$2,500 per additional seat"; and a custom Enterprise tier with unlimited seats, also billed annually. Who owns Benefeature?
The site footer credits Marketshare LLC. Benefeature's published timeline says its predecessor business, AskGMS, was founded in 2001 for carrier plan-design benchmarking and market-share analysis, and that Benefeature launched in 2020 to turn Form 5500 data into an intelligence platform.
What are the main Benefeature competitors?
miEdge (a Zywave product), BenefitFlow, the Judy Diamond American Directory of Group Insurance, Insurance Xdate, and Benefit Signals. Benefeature also publishes its own comparison pages against several of these, which are useful for feature lists and, like all vendor comparisons, should be read with their authorship in mind.
Is Benefeature better than Benefit Signals?
For premium analytics, benefit ratings, market-share work and CRM-integrated workflows, Benefeature does things we do not attempt. For a producing broker who needs one territory sorted by who is closest to a decision -- filed renewal date plus live change signals -- that is the specific job Benefit Signals was built for, at $60/month or $600/year with a 7-day trial.
Does Benefeature cover small group?
It publishes a Small Group Employers module. As with every vendor in this category, the underlying constraint is that employers below the welfare-plan filing threshold generally do not file a Form 5500, so small-group coverage from any of these tools is a workaround for missing data rather than coverage of it.
